The Nederlander Organization, Inc. is committed to many organizations that are important to the Broadway community including The Actors Fund of America, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, The Broadway Association, the Drama League and others. The company is particularly proud of its support of:

The National High School Musical Theater Awards

The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA), aka the Jimmy Award named in honor of James M. Nederlander, was founded in 2009 to raise awareness of the quality of high school theater programs, recognize talented teachers, and provide educational scholarships to exceptional students. More than 50,000 students from 1,000 high schools in 23 cities have participated in the program enabling 126 students to achieve their dream of performing on Broadway at the annual awards presentation. To date, over $500,000 in college scholarships has been made available to deserving students.

Broadway Green Alliance

The BGA (formerly Broadway Goes Green) was launched in 2008 as an ad hoc committee of The Broadway League. The BGA brings together all segments of the theatre community, including producers, theatres in New York and around the country, theatrical unions and their members, and related businesses. Working closely with the Natural Resources Defense Council, the BGA educates, motivates, and inspires the entire theatre community and its patrons to implement environmentally friendlier practices by identifying and disseminating best practices on the subject.
